


Some of our favorite annual holiday events in Kansas include the Holiday Traditions on the Prairie event in Leawood, the Lake Quivira Holiday Bazaar in, well, Lake Quivira, and more. Each city, town, and neighborhood tend to have its own traditions overall, Kansas is a lovely place to be during the holidays. Almost everywhere you turn, you’ll find towns and cities celebrating the most wonderful time of the year in the best ways. Kansas is one of those states who takes its Christmas and holiday events very seriously. What kind of holiday events in Kansas can I find?

Winter in Kansas tends to span from the beginning of November until the end of February luckily for Kansans, this state also experiences all four seasons, so it doesn’t last terribly long – especially when spring comes next! The coldest month of the year, during which you can usually expect to see the most snow, is the month of January. Lows during the coldest parts of winter tend to stick around 20 degrees Fahrenheit, sometimes – albeit rarely – colder during unusual or outstanding events. The Illuminations drive-thru is Botanica’s best effort to make something new and improved out of the restrictions and changes coming our way this year. Usually, they’re cold, dry, and cloudy sometimes, we’ll get an ice storm or a blizzard, but these kinds of events aren’t super common. Winters in Kansas tend to be mild, most of the time, but sometimes things can get a little crazy.
